| Feature / Attribute | Product Specification Details | Implementation Impact |
| Component Category | Fuser Assembly Lower Pressure Roller | Delivers the high-pressure upward squeezing force necessary to bond melted toner to paper fibers. |
| OEM Cross-Reference | LPR-P2035 / RC2-6131-000 / RC2-6131 | Built to strict original equipment manufacturer dimensions for an exact drop-in fit. |
| Printer Compatibility | HP LaserJet P2035, P2035n, P2055d, P2055dn, P2055x | Restores factory-spec paper transport across high-speed, high-volume monochrome office workgroups. |
| Material Composition | Solid Carbon Steel Center Shaft with High-Density Silicone Matrix | Prevents the axle from bending under high spring tension and ensures flat, level contact across the page. |
| Surface Protective Coating | Heat-Stabilized Non-Stick Teflon (PFA/PTFE) Film | Repels stray toner particles, eliminating back-page ghosting blemishes and preventing paper from wrapping around the roller. |
| Thermal Resistance Rating | Continual operation up to 220°C without degradation | Retains its elastic structure and prevents the rubber from softening, blistering, or hardening over long print runs. |
| Drive Architecture | End-Cap Driven via Main Fuser Gear Train | Connects cleanly with the upper fixing film assembly to pull paper through at a uniform speed. |
| Companion Maintenance Parts | Operates directly against the Upper Fuser Film Sleeve | Recommended for replacement during a full fuser rebuild or when changing a torn upper fuser sleeve. |
| Common Failure Signs | Toner smudges or rubs off cleanly with a finger, paper wrinkles, accordions, or jams inside the fuser, squeaking or grinding noises | Installing a fresh pressure roller instantly resolves wrinkling issues, eliminates loose toner transfer, and stops fuser-area paper blocks. |
Description
The Pressure Roller (HP P2035 / P2055)—commonly referred to as the lower fuser sleeve roller—is a heavy-duty, heat-resistant compression component mounted at the exit stage of the printer's fuser drive. While the upper ceramic heater assembly rapidly melts loose black toner from the top, this lower pressure roller exerts constant upward mechanical force under intense spring tension. This continuous compression forces the liquefied plastic resins of the toner deep into the grain of the paper, sealing the image permanently before the sheet is fed out to the exit tray.
Structurally, this roller is engineered with a rigid, solid steel core axle that prevents flexing across its length. This core is wrapped in a thick, high-density silicone rubber cushion designed to withstand continuous operating temperatures that often surpass 180°C. The outer surface is sealed with a non-stick, anti-static fluoropolymer sleeve (PFA/PTFE). Over heavy print cycles, the extreme thermal exposure can cause the internal silicone cushion to separate from the steel shaft, lose its elastic bounce, or become physically dented by paper dust, resulting in a loss of fusing pressure and frequent paper path disruptions.
