Operating at the core of the machine's heat-fixing mechanism, its primary objective is to eliminate severe frictional drag between the static ceramic heating element and the rapidly spinning internal surface of the fuser fixing film sleeve. Because modern fuser units rely on a continuous, pressurized contact zone (the fuser nip) to permanently melt toner into paper, a microscopic layer of G-300 grease must remain perfectly active between these components. Without this ultra-low-friction interface, the intense physical pressure applied by the lower pressure roller would cause the thin fuser film to catch, stutter, tear, or stall out completely against the heating bed.
