It plays an indispensable role in the electrophotographic printing process by working directly alongside the upper thermal fixing film to permanently set toner onto paper. While the upper heating element delivers the intense thermal energy required to liquefy the dry plastic resins in the toner powder, the lower pressure roller applies a fierce, continuous, and completely uniform upward physical force. This intense mechanical squeeze forces the molten toner deep into the microscopic pores of the paper fibers. Unlike softer foam-based rollers, this premium "RUBBER" variant is manufactured from a dense, solid, high-durometer silicone rubber compound. This solid rubber engineering is purpose-built to withstand the significantly higher mechanical torque, accelerated page-per-minute throughput, and aggressive duty cycles characteristic of modern mid-tier enterprise and workgroup print engines. At its core, the roller features a heavy-gauge solid steel shaft that locks directly into the fuser's high-temperature bushings and connects to the printer's main drive gear train.
